Many many years ago, it was explained to the women in the many various communities around the world who perform Agnihotra and practice Homa therapy, that they should gather on Thursdays and form healing circles of love with singing and dancing. It has been said that on subtle levels, the voices of women raised in chanting and singing, emits a healing to the planet that is very powerful. As we send out the healing vibrations of our devotional songs and mantras, we receive them also. Following that guidance, the women in the Baltimore Homa Community have been gathering almost every Thursday evening year after year. For a while, the meetings rotated between two or three homes, but for the past several years, they have taken place in the home of Maria Broom which is a three minute walk from the resonance point. These Women’s Meetings have been open to all women who wanted to be a part of a spiritual circle of women dedicated to sending out Love and Light. And while every meeting began with Vyarhuti Homa and often included sunset Agnihotra, not everyone was a Homa practitioner. After lighting the opening fire, we would meditate in silence together and then going around the circle, each woman would offer gratitude, send out love and place in the healing circle whomever she felt needed it. And then the glorious singing began, sometimes in rounds, with harmony, with rhythm instruments and once in a while, with dancing. |
